Captains’ homes on 6A and the Bass River

Living in Yarmouth

Yarmouth, one of the oldest towns on Cape Cod, has three distinctive villages. Yarmouth Port, on historic Route 6A, is rich in New England charm, with sea captains’ homes, antique shops and a village green. The Captain’s Mile is a self-guided tour of more than 50 former sea captains’ homes, and Gray’s Beach Boardwalk is known for its sunsets.

West and South Yarmouth are busier, with hotels, restaurants and shops. The town has four golf courses and plenty of kayaking and paddleboarding, especially on the Bass River, plus the Whydah Pirate Museum and conservation areas for walks.
